“Above the water” is a story filled with cold, anxiety, loneliness and hope. It’s a story of a woman whose life changed overnight due to her aggressive partner. Fleeing from oppression, Maya (main character) couldn’t take her daughter for whom she now has to fight, not only with her sadist husband, but also with the lack of her own self-confidence. This short feature combines genre canons with the director’s original perspective on the problems of inequality and violence. “Above the Water” is also a story about searching for inner strength and overcoming own’s weaknesses.

Director and filmmaker, graduate of the Łódź Film School (PWSFTiTv), Film Art Organization Department. In 2013, she completed MBA (Master of Business Administration) studies at the Cracow University of Economics. She gained her directing experience working on commercial projects, short films and documentaries. In addition, she actively participates in industry life by collaborating, among others, with from the Film Culture Center of Andrzej Wajda and collaborating with the Women of Film Association.
